The Madrid Bombings

In March 11 th 2004 between 7: 30 and 8:00 in the morning 10 backpack bombs went off  targeting the Madrid Communter Train System. As many as  2051 people were wounded and 191 people were killed in the attacks. The official investigation by the Spanish Judiciary determined that the attacks were directed by an al-Qaeda-inspired terrorist cell.  The bombings in Madrid happened exactly 911 days after the September 11 attacks in the Us in 2001.
Four different trains had explosions at the same time just like the London bombings July 7 2005.
Some of the alledged bombers had reportedly been under surveillance by the Spanish police since January 2003. The cell-phones used in the bombings were unlocked by a Spanish policeman.

The bombing occured 3 days before the Spanish general elections. Immidiately after the elections the Basque  separatists (ETA) was accused for the bombings. The theory remained for 2 days.
The massacre took place exactly 2½ years after the Septemeber 11 attacks in the USA 2001. That is exacty 911 days inbetweent he attacks. The attacks in the USA were first believed to be the Basques too (ETA)
No evidence have been found that al-Qaeda was involved with the bombings even though a member made a claim the day after. In 2007 al-Qaeda claimed to be proud of the bombings. The bombers are said to be trained in Afganistan.
On April 3rd 2006 in south Madrid four Arab Terrorist died in what seems to be a suicide attack killing a  spanish police and wounded eleven policemen. The police raided a flat. One of the dead was according to te police the ringleader of the bombings.
Oktober 31st 2007 21 defendants were found guilty from forgery to murder.  No known connection was found to a-Qaeda.
