Healing our World Through Childhood Memories

How far back into your childhood can you remember? Most of us can remember as far back to at least the age of 5, some even further into our past. Most of all, we remember the carefree and innocence that we experienced during those younger years. Our biggest memories encircle those closest to us, such as our parents, siblings, etc. Remember how your Mother’s love and soft hugs could fix any problem we could ever have, from a skinned knee to a broken friendship. We each have special memories from our childhood that we look back on....hopefully!!

Times have changed over the years, not all of us had great childhoods, or even ones that we really want to remember! For those that don’t have the fond memories that bring joy to them, we need to make our own now. In the process of making our own memories that possibly we didn't encounter, we can show the children of today the childhood we did not have, yet wanted and still yearn for today.

Making new memories to fill the gaps will not only lead us to be happier adults, it will instill a role into the children of today to repeat it in the future. Healing our world, also means healing our own selves within, and those that surround us. It does take work on our own personal parts, but as time goes by it becomes natural to us.  Some activities as simple as sitting down and coloring pictures with our kids, playing tag, or discovering new rocks in the creek bed; can change not only us, but the future generations to come. Through this small change in our lives we will give ourselves an inner peace we do not posses. There are many benefits to reverting back to our childhood minds. It is also a small way we can change history…Healing Our World.

Think of your childhood…was it all you wanted it to be? If not, don’t you want that for your children…to make their memories more precious for them to hold all their life. The memories we make today will trickle down from generation to generation, and with it will bring each generation closer to the peace that we seek for our world today. There is no time like the present to make that change! We all know that tomorrow may not come...so don't put off what you can do today! Give all the love that you posses, make every moment count.

What is the "Moral of the Story"…We may not be able to make a HUGE difference individually, but we all can make a contribute and make small differences now…that will have great impacts on future generations. Change happens in numbers...as the human race pulls together we will all become one!! STRONGER!
