Wiccan Symbols: The Tripple Moon

The Tripple Moon is a Goddess symbol that represents the Maiden, Mother and Crone as the waxing, full and waning moon, the three phases of the moon. The Goddess is just one being but there are three different aspects of her. It is also associated with feminine energy, mystery and psycic abilities. The first crescent of the moon the waxing phase represents new beginning, new life and rejuvenation. The full moon is when the magic is at it's most potential and powerful. The lst crescent, the waning moon represents a time to bnishing magic and to send things away.

The symbol can often be seen on the crown or head-pieces on high Priestesses.

The Tripple Moon Goddess represents the cycle of life from beginning to end to the rebirth. The Maiden is the mother of love, hope and beauty. The maiden is called upon when the witches wish for a new start.

The mother is the mother of love and care. The one that all mothers should pose. She is called upon when a woman is pregnant, for protection and to bless a marriage.

The Crone is the least missunderstood and the most feared. She is the last stage of life and the cycle never ends. She represent wisdom and experience and is the one that take care of the Maiden and the Mother. She is called upon to find peace and accept endings.

Brooke Shields said this during her speech on Michael Jackson's memorial in 2009:
"Michael saw everything with his heart. Today, although our hearts are aching, we need to look up where he is undoubtedly perched in a crescent moon, and we need to smile."
