Eternal hearts
live in us each
Where only we can
reach
Yet we don't
always control them
Though we wear
them as personal a gem
Gleaming brighter then the sun
Smiling so big it
can't be undone
The color of the
beautiful sky blue
As fresh as the
morning dew
Our hearts go through many phases
During our lives
travel through mazes
They can be broken
down
Wearing only a
frown
Eternal hearts live in us each

We give our hearts away
Letting others have them to play
No matter the pain they endure
They will keep beating…for sure
Though we try to guard at all cost
There are times they do get lost
Eventually we will find them again
Exactly where they have always been
