Donna Summers (TMZ)
Death=$$$... at least when it comes to art... and a gallery in Vegas is providing the point, cause it immediately upped the price of Donna Summer pieces when she passed away.
The Jack Gallery in Las Vegas worked with Summer's in 2003 to create limited edition lithographs. Printing 750 hand signed prints of 4 different art pieces (designed by Summer), which sole for $550 each BEFORE she lost her battle with cancer.
But days after she passed away the prices with up AT LEAST $100 a pop. With the cheap ones going for $650. Donna's most popular piece "The Winter Melody" was raised up to $1,000. The gallery tells us that Summer's work is in high demand since her death, and "Winter Melody" is almost sold out. Her art is effecting peopl like never before. One couple came in and after viewing the artwork broke down and cried. The gallery is currently planning a memorial exhibition for all the pieces that will go up in September at one of their Las Vegas locations.
When asked about the price increas, a rep for the store says it's just the nature of the businees. ... Prices are determined by availability.
Micahel Jackson
As we all know many of his personal effects have been auctioned off, after his *cough* death *cough*. The latest is a letter written to LMP from Michael.
The rarety made the price of something.. and when someone passe away..there will be no more news thing belonging to them...so the price is more more more high...
ReplyDeleteit's sad...but it was the same for painter, writter, musicians, and many others people..
nice letter

Love Is Here And Now You're Gone
ReplyDeleteAnd oh my darling, now you're gone
Love is here
And oh my darling, now you're gone
You persuaded me to love you
And I did
But instead of tenderness
I found heartache instead
Into your arms I fell
So unaware of the loneliness
Thar was waiting there
You closed the door to your heart, girl
And you turned the key
Locked your love away from me
Love is here
And oh my darling, now you're gone
You made me love you
And oh my darling, now you're gone
You said loving you
Would make life beautiful
With each passing day
But as soon as love came
Into my heart
You turned and you walked
Just walked away
You stripped me of my dreams
You gave me faith, then you took my hope
Look at me now
Look at me
See what loving has done to me
Look at my face
See how cryin' has left its trace
After you made me all your own
Then you left me all alone
You made your words sound so sweet
Knowing that your love I couldn't keep
My heart cries out for your touch
But baby, you're not there
And the lonely cry fades in the air
Love is here
And oh my darling, now you're gone
Love is here
And oh my darling, now you're gone
You made me love you
Oh oh my darling, now you're gone
Talking 'bout love, love, love, love,
Ooh ooh my darling, now you're gone
Michael...for you
*Michaela*
beautiful :'(
ReplyDeleteA lot of people don't know to appreciate someone when they have them, after they are gone then they become sad and miss them, wondering if they could have a second chains to have them again, they start showing all the love and support in a way that didn't before because the feel guilty,I'm glad to have loved Michael since the beginning and always stand there for him i will always do,always give unconditional love to my lovely one,I'm just wishing and hope so much that maybe one day somewhere he will read at least one of the things I said and addressed to him. Loving u since always it's a honor Michael.Love & Respect a MJ FAM
ReplyDeleteThis is true, happened to my dad, still is to this day,and he has been expired awhile, sad but true, if only people would learn to give their flowers to the living, the world would be a better place. Yes Anonymous, Nice Song, and I Agree, Loved Him Then, Love Him Still.
ReplyDeletefrankly, that letter "smells" like a whole lot of s**t to me .. would I buy it?
ReplyDeleteGeez what kind of person do you think I am? Besides it's not fresh off the press... (did MJ sign himself off as Turd?) LOL
I feel blessed to have meet Michael in dreams..and to know him..I know his Value.. I know his Heart & his Soul..
ReplyDeleteI'm proud as a mother, as a sister, as a lover.. of his parcours since his youngest age..
Michael is..
a Wonderful Artiste.. the Greatest..
a Loving Father.. the more loved too..
a Great Humanitarian Man.. the more giver..always helping & caring..
a Beautiful Man.. She(s) loves him all..
I admire his inner strenght.. and his great heart...
I like, love.. the fact he is 'different, weird'..as they have said...coz i'm like him :)... and I think that every one has right to live his life in the way he want to live it..
There are no model, no rule, no way etablished for to live our own live.. those who think that.. it's cos they have put themself model, rule & way...in their own life...and they dont accept that people live in another way as them.. I Love the way of Michael to be..to live.. different of others.. I love Michael for so many reasons..
I know him since july 2009, and since, he is all for me.. (please..dont say or think, I cant be a fan or can't love him, coz I know him only after his escape.. I've read it so many times.. :(
We don't measure love by the length of time we know someone... but by the depth of the feelings we feel for this someone)..
Dont be sad...
HE IS ALIVE..♥

....
By the way..
the post was about ""Why are artists personal effects and artwork worth more when they die? "" .....about personal effects and artwork.. sold after to be pass away..
We know that Michael is worth more that all that he had..properties..art works and others things.....and that NO one or NO treasure in the world could replace him...
All this personal effects & artwork are only things.. they don't breath.. they don't bleed.. they don't suffer and they don't cry... they don't love 'more'.. :(
What I find odd, is... why after people pass away... why they (family) want so quickly, to sell the things of their beloved ones? Aren't there, their memories about them?
Some will said that memories are in the heart.. surely.. but when the event is just happend, we need to have all their things around us.. for to feel the lost beloved one.. still around us.. It takes a time..a long time for to be able to separate of these things..and sometimes..we cant..
I've saw in some families.. people wanted to sell all.. even the smallest thing.. for to have money..and sometimes they fight for them :( sad to see that the death of someone are just.. a topic of money..
My father is dead since soon 9 years and still have things of him.. no money value... just sentimental value.. its the only way to have them always by our side.. I've always thought that things have a memorie..a living.. a kind of soul.. the memorie's living of his owner.. a value for the family..
About the value of artists people effects & artwork.. after they are gone..
The rarety..the beauty or the uniqueness of the thing..the name of his last owner (the artist).. the number of people who loved him/her..the number of people likely to buy the effects or artworks (fans..collectors..or rich people..).. there are so many reasons that can make the price of something.. and when someone passe away.. there will be no more news thing creating & belonging to this artist...so the price is more more more high...
it's sad...but it was the same for painters, sculptors, writters, musicians, and many others people.. since all times.. More the years passe...more the price is higher.

Michael's "death" woke a lot of us up (even though I've always loved him) to the fact that as humans we take each other for granted. His life inspired me so much I just wanted to continue to l.o.v.e everyone but especially him. Thank you so much Michael for the beauty you have given to the world and to each of us individually. L.o.v.e will always WIN!
